A local music festival, which was held in an open-air park to celebrate the summer season, required comprehensive support for all their sanitation needs for the event.

The Challenge

The event required seamless coordination to ensure safety, sanitation and waste management, with the goal of providing an enjoyable and comfortable experience for guests of all ages.

With a large, open venue and a significant number of attendees expected, the event organisers faced three main challenges:

On our advice, the event organisers opted for a combination of portable toilets, wheelie bins, and crowd barriers to address these challenges.

To cater to the large crowd, a fleet of high-quality portable toilets was strategically placed across the event space, particularly near high-traffic areas such as food stalls, stages, and entrances/exits. The units were delivered clean, stocked with necessary supplies and maintained throughout the event to ensure optimal hygiene. Attendees had easy access to toilets without long waits and the facilities remained clean and fresh during the entirety of the festival.

Multiple wheelie bins were placed around the park, allowing for efficient waste disposal. Clear signage was provided and the bins were located near key gathering points like seating areas, food vendors and rest areas. This setup helped keep the site clean, with minimal litter on the ground and simplified the waste collection process for the clean-up team both during and after the event.

The use of crowd barriers played a crucial role in managing the flow of people throughout the festival site. The barriers were used to separate pedestrian pathways from vehicle access areas, form queuing lanes for entrance points and food vendors and lastly to section off restricted areas such as the stage and the VIP zones. The barriers were sturdy yet lightweight, allowing for quick setup and adjustments as needed. This ensured smooth movement throughout the venue, reduced congestion, and maintained a safe environment for all attendees.
